Is coaching really worth it?

Coaching definitely provides better outcomes than going it alone, however for the DIY approach, Moneytrainer is the same customised platform used by Reach Up Financial Coaching.

Not everyone who wants clarity with their money needs a coach. Some people just want a simple, structured way to see what's going on and a trusted process that they can stick to.

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Self Confident Budgeter

Do any of the following sum up where you're at?

  • You’ve tried budgeting apps before, but they don’t quite fit how you think about money
  • You’re not looking for someone to tell you what to do, you just want a clear picture
  • You found this site through Google (or someone mentioned it), but coaching feels like more than you need right now
  • You know roughly what you earn and spend, but the numbers never quite add up the way you’d expect
  • You just want something straightforward you can actually use on your own terms

Then maybe you don't need a coach right now, just a better starting point.

Moneytrainer is a customised budgeting and planning platform built for the way Kiwis (and our Aussie friends) actually think about money.

No jargon, no generic overseas advice, no recurring sessions. Just a clear, structured way to see where your money is going and build a plan that actually fits your life.

Moneytrainer is the same platform that sits behind every client I work with as a coach. It's not a simplified version of something, it's the real thing. My coaching clients use it to track progress, map goals, and stay on top of their finances between sessions.

Some people start with the planner and never need anything else

Others use it for a while, get clarity on where they're stuck, and then decide coaching is a faster way.

Either path works, and the tool is built to support both.

You're not choosing between a tool and a coach; you're choosing your starting point.

Think of it as having the structure without the sessions. And if you ever decide you want someone in your corner to fast-track your progress, that option is already there.

Coaching will help best

Without support, it’s likely life will continue being a ‘hit and miss’ approach to money. There are gaps that a structured, supported approach will move you through faster.

Either option will benefit you

You have a reasonable foundation, the planner or coaching will both move you forward just at different paces.
