You work hard for your money. So why is it always gone before payday?
You’ve tried budgeting. You’ve tried cutting back. And somehow you’re still juggling bills, still starting again, and still wondering what everyone else seems to know that you don’t.

Does any of this sound like you?
- You’ve written a budget before. More than once. It never lasts.
- You earn reasonable money, but there’s never much to show for it.
- Every time you start saving, something comes up and the savings are gone.
- You say yes to things you can’t really afford, because saying no feels worse.
- You’ve used the credit card or buy now, pay later just to get through to payday.
- You lie awake going over the bills in your head.
- You’re not sure whether your debt is normal, or a problem.
If even one of those sounds familiar, you’re not bad with money, and you’re not on your own. I hear the same things from almost everyone I coach, whatever they earn.
Why trying harder hasn’t worked
Most of us were never taught how to manage money. We were taught to cut back. So when things get tight, we write another budget, spend less for a few weeks, and then life happens. A birthday. A car repair. A tough week at work. The budget falls over, and we decide we’re just no good at this.
It isn’t a willpower problem. The way most people are shown to budget doesn’t fit real life, and it ignores the real reasons we spend.
“Most people feel challenged financially, but through years of coaching I’ve learned it’s not a money problem. It’s a clarity problem.”
What changes when you work through Money With Purpose
This is my Money With Purpose workshop, written down so you can work through it at home, at your own pace.
You’ll know where the money goes
You’ll understand why you spend money you didn’t plan to, so it stops catching you out.
You’ll know where you stand with debt
You’ll find out whether your debt is under control, or quietly taking control of you.
You’ll start saving, and keep it
You’ll work out an amount you can put away every week, even if saving has never worked for you before.
You’ll have a setup you’ll actually use
A simple way to organise your money that doesn’t take hours every week, and doesn’t fall apart after a bad month.
Surprise bills won’t send you back to square one
You’ll be ready for the costs that always seem to come out of nowhere.
You’ll finish with a plan, not just ideas
Goals that matter to you, and one clear first step you can take this week.
Written in plain language, with short exercises that use your own figures. Print it and write in it, or fill it in on screen.
“I found that in the first 6 weeks I had saved almost $1,000. I had never done this before in my life.”
“My home loan got declined because of my short-term debt. 4 months later it was approved and I’m so excited.”
“Having the clarity of how we can live with a much lower income gave me the confidence to take the step.”

Hi, I’m Tony
I’ve been helping people with their money since 2002, first in real estate, mortgages and insurance, and as a financial coach since 2010. I’ve sat across the table from people on modest incomes and people on very good incomes, and they’ve told me the same thing: “I just don’t know where it all goes.”
I wrote Money With Purpose so you don’t need to book a session to get started. It’s the same approach I use with my clients, for less than the cost of a takeaway.
I’m not a financial adviser and I don’t sell financial products. I help people change the habits that keep them stuck with money.

Questions
I’ve tried budgeting before and it didn’t work. Why would this be any different?
Because it doesn’t start with a spreadsheet or cutting back. It starts with why your money goes where it does, then helps you build a plan around your real life, not a perfect month that never happens.
I don’t earn much. Is this still for me?
Yes. The people I work with earn all sorts of incomes. The frustrations are usually the same, and so is the way forward.
What format is it?
A PDF e-book. Read it on your phone, tablet or computer, print it, or fill in the exercises on screen. Your copy is kept in your Reach Up account, so you can download it again any time.
Is this financial advice?
No. It’s general education about money habits and planning. It doesn’t recommend any financial product.
