Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

Who we are

This policy applies to Reach Up Financial Coaching Ltd and anyone who represents us, including any coach or contractor working on our behalf ("we", "us", "our"). It explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information when you visit this website, contact us, book a call or become a client.

We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where it applies to us, the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

What we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to you and to provide our coaching services. This may include:

  • Contact details, such as your name, email address and phone number.
  • What you tell us about your situation and goals when you complete a form, the Clarity Assessment, or book a call.
  • Financial information you choose to share during coaching, such as income, expenses, debts, savings and goals.
  • Notes, summaries and, with your permission, recordings or transcripts of coaching calls (see below).
  • Booking and payment details, such as call times and invoices. We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Website information, such as the pages you visit and how you found the site, collected with cookies (see below).

You don't have to give us any information, but if you choose not to, we may not be able to respond to you or provide some services.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries and arrange calls.
  • To provide coaching, prepare call summaries and recommendations, and support you between sessions.
  • To send invoices and receive payments.
  • To send you our newsletter or resources you've asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To understand how our website is used and to measure our advertising, so we can improve both.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We will never sell your personal information.

Call recordings and note takers

With your permission, coaching calls may be recorded or transcribed using a note taking tool. This lets us give you a comprehensive written summary, including our recommendations, and lets you focus on the conversation rather than taking notes.

You can choose not to allow a note taker. In that case we can't provide a comprehensive summary. Instead you'll receive bullet points of what was discussed. These won't include recommendations, because the full context of any recommendation can't be properly confirmed without clear notes.

Services we use

We use trusted third party services to run our business. They only receive the information they need to provide their service to us:

  • Cloudflare: hosts this website.
  • Jotform: our website forms, including the contact form and the Clarity Assessment.
  • Calendly: call bookings.
  • Zoom: coaching calls.
  • Klaviyo: our email newsletter and resource sign ups.
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads: website statistics and advertising measurement.
  • Stripe: card payments.
  • Substack: if you subscribe to my articles there, Substack handles your subscription under its own privacy policy.

Some of these services store information outside New Zealand, including in the United States and Australia. We choose providers that protect personal information in a way that, overall, gives comparable safeguards to those in the New Zealand Privacy Act.

If you use the online budget planner as part of your coaching, it is provided by Moneytrainer Limited under its own terms and privacy policy. We cannot access your planner. We only see information from it if you choose to send us copies or share your screen during a coaching call.

Cookies and website statistics

This website uses cookies from Google to understand how visitors use the site and to measure whether our advertising works, for example whether someone who clicked an ad went on to book a call. This information does not identify you by name.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work if you do.

When we share information

We keep what you tell us confidential. We will only share your personal information:

  • With the services listed above, so they can provide their service to us.
  • With someone else, such as a mortgage adviser or another professional, when you have asked us to or agreed to it.
  • When the law requires it, or where we believe it is necessary to prevent a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety.

How we keep it safe and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including using secure, password protected systems and limiting access to the people who need it.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires (for example, financial and tax records). After that it is securely deleted.

If a privacy breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. Email us and we will respond within 20 working days. There is no charge for this.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

If you have a question or concern about your privacy, email info@reachup.co.nz. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, or in Australia the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
